  Tunnel surfaces hydro-scarification and re-painting

  Working cycle   Method
  - Surfaces hydro-scarification through very high water pressure (2000 bar) with relative equipment set on a truck and automatic recovery system (roadway is left perfectly clean);   - Cleaning and/or protection of roadway pavement and of existent horizontal and vertical road signs;

  - Application of a suitable primer for concrete surfaces;
  - Application of two or three coats of varnish to choose between the cycles (see section "Paintings);
  - Residues transportation to landfill and relative disposal;

    When select this cycle   TECHNICAL NOTE

After hydro- scarification activity, the surface treated will appear irregular. In order to obtain a perfectly smooth surface (the optimum for every painting cycle), it is necessary to study a “shaving” cycle for the concrete to be realized with cement mortar.

  - Continuous painting and ordinary maintenance cycles realized in the tunnels lead to paint detachment, as a consequence of the varnish films applied in the course of time.
It is esteemed that with one painting cycle per year, these phenomenon will appear after 10-15 years. In these cases the total removal of existing paints allows to restart with standard maintenance cycles;
